Essential Skills - General ICT Resources
Hi,
Currently, my organisation use the free computer-based initial assessments provided by CCEA – However, CCEA currently do not produce an initial assessment for ICT.Is anybody aware of any free, computer-based ICT initial assessments?
Many thanks,
Kyle
Hi Kyle
In college when we have access we use BKSB online assessment. There is obviously a cost involved in this.
In the community where I assess students I use www.keyskills4u.com This is a useful tool, if it suits the group you have to repeat the assessment at the end of the course to let the group see how they have increased their knowledge and skill and have increased their mark.
Depending on the group you have, you may find that the BBC RAW Computers site is useful especially if they have little or no computer experience. Although it will not give you an end assessment level you can by observing how they get on see what they can and cannot manage. Can I also recommend the resources on this site, especially the Exemplar ICT initial assessment document which is a practical assignment.
Hope this helps
